DECKS & OUTDOOR LIVING · LOUISVILLE, KY

Decks for life outside.

A place for long evenings, a table with room for everyone, or an easier way down to the yard. Bluegrass Home Solutions builds decks, stairs and railings around the way you want to live outside.

A LITTLE THOUGHT GOES A LONG WAY

Start with how you want to use it.

A good deck begins with the space around it. Think about the doors you use, where people will sit, and the path between the house and the yard. A poolside gathering space has different needs from a quiet corner for two. We can talk through those details together.

01

Deck layouts

Plan the places to gather and the routes between them. Our work includes patterned timber decking and spaces that connect a home with its backyard pool.

02

Stairs & railings

Steps, landings and railings shape the way a deck works every day. Consider where you want to enter the yard and which views you want to keep open.

03

Finishing details

Board direction, borders and skirting give a deck its character. Look at the real project photos for details you would like to discuss.

FROM THE BLUEGRASS PORTFOLIO

Room to gather. A way to the yard.

This deck brings a broad outdoor surface alongside a blue-sided home. Horizontal rails define its edges, while wide entry steps connect it with the area below. Two views of the same project show how the deck surface, railing and stair opening come together. The photographs were taken during the work.

YOUR HOME. YOUR STARTING POINT.

Plan the route as well as the room.

For a deck in Louisville or nearby, start with a few photographs of your home and yard. A view from the door and a view looking back at the house often explain more than a close-up alone.

  1. 01

    Leave room to live

Think about the table, chairs or seating you want outside, then the space to move around them. A deck that connects to a pool or patio also needs a clear route between those areas.

  2. 02

    Choose the way down

Where do you usually enter the yard? The stair opening and landing should be part of the layout conversation from the beginning. Include the ground below the deck in your photographs.

  3. 03

    Bring the details together

Parallel boards, diagonal sections, borders and railing styles create different looks. Save an example from our work and tell us which part you like; the right approach depends on your space.

BEFORE WE GET STARTED

A few things
to think about.

Can we talk about updating an existing deck?

Yes. Tell us what you have now and what you would like to change. Photos of the decking, stairs, railings and the surrounding space help start the conversation. The appropriate scope depends on the condition and layout of the existing deck.

What should I share about a new deck?

Your location, approximate size and how you want to use the space are useful starting points. Let us know about doors, changes in ground level and any pool or patio the deck needs to connect with.

Where do you work?

Bluegrass Home Solutions is based in Louisville and serves nearby areas, with projects considered across Kentucky. Share your project location when you call.

Should I choose a layout before choosing the railing?

It helps to start with the space you need and the routes through it. Then discuss how the railing, stair opening and board layout should fit those decisions.

Can the stairs be part of the deck discussion?

Yes. Share where you enter the yard and which parts of the outdoor space you want to connect. Photos of the doors, deck and surrounding ground help explain the layout.
